30th June - And so they have all gone to be with their new families, the last couple of days have been busy with paperwork and goodbyes . Thanks to those families who have contacted me to let me know how the first nite went and to those who have sent pics of the pups in their new environments.
29th June - Well the day of departures is here , 6 of our little darlings left tails wagging with their very happy new families , and I look forward to hearing of their exploits and seeing pics of them in months and years to come. The remaining pups seem very unconcerned as they wolfed down their lunch and are now playing a complicated tug of war game with the blanket they are tearing to shreds.
26th June - Pups are happy pottering about in both the inside and outside areas despite the cold, they continue to grow. Given their final worming today before leaving and said goodbye to their mum who went home to her human family tonite...giving the kids a couple of nites to get used to her not being around before they change environment. Registration certificates arrived on Tuesday....they took a day or two to dry out as the storms filled our letter box !
22nd June- even a day of visitors yesterday couldnt damper this lots appetites.
19th June- pups at their favorite activity.....chewing visitors shoes ! The mild weather has meant lots of outdoor time for pups to play and explore ...and they are making the most of it ....of course still sleeping for about 40 mins every hour or so. Mum still feeding her brood though a little less frequently and older dogs in and out mostly to pinch the pups toys !
17th June - A busy few days. Pups have had their immunization , vet check and microchip....all took it in their stride . They are now having four meals of meat , rice/veg & biscuit....and growing fast. Familys have been again to visit most days have seen at least one often more groups come to play with their pup. Will attempt to get pups to stay still for long enough to photograph tommorrow.
12th June- Pups had the door to the outside nursery opened yesterday and had a ball exploring outdoors, this pic shows them this morning having had an inside breakfast then going to the outside nursery playing with mum
11th June- Pups are still growing fast, they spend their days in the outside nursery now playing eating and sleeping under the watchfull eye of their mum and the lukilab dogs and myself. They are now on four meals a day and feeds from mum continue though she is now feeding about four hourly . Am hoping weather permitting later today to let them explore the yard attached to the nursery. As mum and our other dogs have liberated the pups toys and turned them into confetti , some shopping later on for a few new items is in order !
7th June- busy few days , pups have been given intestinal wormer and had their nails reclipped. Toys have been introduced to the play area during the day and more interaction is happening between the pups. On the meals front they are still being hand fed just to ensure that all are getting their fair share... the amounts are of course increasing. Our little girl is now having only 3 top up bottles a day and is keeping pace with the others. Mum continues to feed them often and supervise their play if it gets a bit noisy as well as clean up after them. The weekend will be busy with family visits and of course the usual washing , cleaning and feeding.
3rd June - Pups have had a busy few days meeting their new families , but have enjoyed all the attention some very busy tail wagging has occurred. Pups having three meals a day of either raw chicken mince or beef/heart mince and still of course feeding off mum. They will be introduced to tray feeding later this week rather than hand feeding ( doing that to make sure all get their fair share at present) and some rice and vegies will also be added to the meat in a day or two.
31st May- Breakfasts are over , pen is done for the morning and all is ready for pups to start meeting their family's . The next four days will be busy... in the best of ways as all labs love attention. After a couple of visitors pups asleep and recharging for the next family. Mum celebrates her fourth birthday tommorrow.
27th May - life continues to be a round of eating and sleeping for the pups who not only have open eyes and ears but teeth. The odd bark or growl is coming from them now as they are noticing each other for a few minutes before and after feeds. Our little chocolate girl is now 760gm only 130gm behind the next smallest sibling. We have one black boy available to an approved home- If interested ring Ann 0403 127 390
23rd May - a busy week since last update. Mum has had her stitches out and has healed well. Her milk supply continues to increase as does the size of the pups. Pups are all doing really well and now have their eyes open .
21st May - still adorable and apart from eating and sleeping only activity is growing...even the littlest choc girl who is nearly double her birthweight now.
15th May - what can I say impossibly cute.
14th May - Pups continue to grow fast , they are still spending their days feeding, sleeping and a quick commando crawl every so often to get to mum first. This pic shows pups having second or was it third breakfast following bedding change this morning, whilst mum does a quick head count to make sure I didnt loose any whilst removing old bedding. We have one black boy available to join a lucky family. Please ring Ann on 0403 127 390 if interested.... I will not place pups on email or txt contact only.
12th May - good night, mum now moulting ... a process that will go on for some weeks. Bedding instantly assumes a brown hue once she has been in to feed her pups. Still spending the majority of the day with her babies but starting to come out with the family more often for short visits.
11th May - Happy Mothers Day to all. Lukilab Cafe Queen celebrated with breakfast and back to bed to cuddle with her brood. Pups had their nails clipped this afternoon to protect mums flanks from little claws that pummel away as pups feed.
5th May- Mum has recovered very well and is tending to her brood constantly and snoozing.

1st May - Lukilab Cafe Queen has come to stay at Lukilab today. As you can see from the wagging tail she is happy to be visiting again, she and our other dogs greeted each other like long lost friends and have kept company since arrival apart from when she went to check out her sleeping arrangements in my daughters rooms..... after a quick sit in the whelping box and a jump on the bed she gave it the woof of approval and was off with her doggy friends.
17th April - Lukilab Cafe Queen is now 6 weeks pregnant (pic taken today) and will be coming to stay at Lukilab at the end of the month.
