Lyndhurst Choccy Sensations & Alexlab Kernow Lads family 2013
The expectant couple , resting for things to come.
25th June- The lovely Lynhurst Choccy Sensation and Alexlab Kernow Lad are waiting for the arrival in about 10 days of their pups.
Mum as you can see is looking portly but the tail is still wagging at any attention and of course the pic being taken in the kitchen the hopeful look is present ! Mum has started to moult a little and so the fur around her face is lightening as usual before moulting.

29th June- Mum even bigger now, sleeping alot. She has slowed down with her meals no longer able to scoff the lot in 2 seconds, so we have downsized meals slightly and started giving her lunch to spread the load.
2nd July - Mum is still expanding and is now occasionally restless. Still sleeping deeply between meals and the toilet stops. Yesterday afternoon keen to explore under every bush and behind every tree but no sign of pups yet.
3rd July- Mum digging an impressive crater under the poor geraniums in the garden.. Spread and sorted her lunch out into individual pieces all over the floor and ate half of it, raced the others out for dinner and then after a quick sniff and lick left the lot ! Several trips later out to explore the yard in the cold and dark by torchlight she settled for a quick snooze. At 12.45 was unsettled and unhappy but nothing happening, an early morning visit to the vet showed happy puppy's but low blood hormone levels. Back home for another quick snooze by 3am with nothing still happening back to the vet -as low hormone levels slow placental function and in the interests of all a c/s was the only option left.
4th July - 8 Healthy pups have arrived and mum is recovering well. Mum and Dad are the proud parents of 3 Black Boys, 2 Black Girls, 2 Chocolate Boys & 1 Chocolate Girl. Mum sleeping most of the day , eating the odd small meal and feeding her pups, she doesnt have the idea of toileting them yet....could be another long nite as this needs to happen every 3-4 hours.
5th July- A good night pups are visably bigger this morning , mum has a good milk supply as can be seen from the pic. Still leaving most of the toileting up to us silly humans :) . At this stage 4 pups are spoken for . To enquire about black boys or girls please ring Ann 0403 127 390 between 8am and 8pm.
8th July - Mum has been devoted over the last 3 days shortly after last post she began tending to all her pups needs and has done an excellent job. This morning she passed up on breakfast in bed and dashed out to eat with the rest of her family before heading straight back to her offspring...another day of feeding , cleaning and sleeping for the new family. Easy to see the amount of growing being done by pups when comparing to last pic. Sorry the colours are a bit washed out by the flash.
9th July - Another quiet nite and day of tending to her family and snoozing. Pups mumbling occasionally and the odd squeak as someone feels they need a better spot at the milkbar. Sorry about the colours the flash changes them, Mum and her babies in a dark warm "den" in my daughters room where they can be undisturbed.
Mum coming out 3-4 times a day for the odd 10 min break but quick to return at when needed.

13th July - The last four days have been much the same mum still tending to her pups constantly though is begining to come out with the family for short periods of time. Pups continue to grow rapidly as expected , eyes still closed for another 2-3 days. Pups nails have been clipped to protect mums undercarriage from their needle sharp little claws.
16th July- Pups eyes started opening yesterday and overnight all have them open. Feeding is still the major priority closely followed by sleep. Mum is doing well with her 4 meals a day plus snacks :0 All those extra calories are going to her pups whose fat tummy's show what a good job mum is doing.
18th July - Pups eyes are now open , and more squeaks and even the occasional wee growl coming from the whelping box. Still mostly feeding and sleeping. Half of mums stitches out today.
Mum very relaxed , even let dad poke his nose around the door for a quick look without protest.

22nd July - Pups are now moving about more . Mum is sleeping with them at nite but spends most of the day nearby and is feeding them every 2-4 hours. Mums stitches are all out and she has healed well. Teeth buds are forming and one or two have their first tooth today..... wont be long till they have a full set. We have available one girl colour to be determined when we decide if we are keeping one on breeders terms and two black boys.
24th July- Door to whelping box now down during the days and after a slow start yesterday today they are keen to get out after feeds and sleeps and explore..... usually all walking thru the water bowl and paw printing the paper. Mum not sure she likes them so mobile but happy to sit on the other side of the small barrier and watch...she only jumps in to feed or if she isnt sure what the noise is all about .
29th July - A busy few days. Pups now have the whole indoor nursery to play in as we took out the whelping box today to give them more room. They have progressed through sitting for feeds to standing (first time today) and started solids yesterday.... all enthusiastic about chicken mince. Mum is still in and out but spending more time with the family...still within earshot.
3rd August - This pic shows that our small darlings our now roaming about their nursery pen and starting to interact with each other and any visiting humans. Pups have had their first visitors this weekend and mum and they enjoyed the extra pats and cuddles. Pups are now having three meals a day of raw meats and today tried a tray rather than hand feeds .... messy but fun. It will be time to introduce cooked rice and veg in a couple of days and then by the end of the week some outdoor nursery time will be in order at least during the warmer parts of the day.
6th August - Our babies are still growing rapidly and are now outside during the days in the larger indoor nursery. Mum still pops in and out to feed and make sure all are behaving. Meals are now taken off a tray (with supervision as some are quicker than others).
9th August - Pups have enjoyed having more space over the last few days, yesterday they explored the adjacent garden area outside their nursery and collected leaves and twigs. Today with the rain they have been given run of the undercover area adjacent to their nursery for a short while while cleaning was in progress...all fascinated by the new surroundings and keen to explore. Right now they are back in bed recovering from their exertions.
11th Aug- Pups having fun outside , had their second dose of intestinal wormer yesterday and now having a full diet of raw mince, cooked rice &veg and very small amount of puppy biscuits three times a day. Mum also continues to feed them regularly so they are not short of calories.
12th Aug- we have available only one black boy and one black girl and one chocolate girl on breeders terms from this litter.

14th Aug - Mum, Great Great Grandma and pups are all fascinated by something on the ground next to the pups outside area ??? leaves that might be edible ! Pups have had two visits from mum and a solid breakfast this morning so not really in danger of starving :)
17th Aug - Mum has decided that she doesn't like being mobbed and feeds are a grab on the run affair now most times anyway. Pups are still growing rapidly. They had a visit from the vet on Thursday and all were immunized and microchipped which they took in their stride. Families have visited again and selected their pups we now have names to call those who have families organized which we are starting to call them by. The pups have also discovered the joys of digging and are very enterprising...a few more pavers around the fence line may be called for tomorrow.
21st Aug- Pups are very busy as you can see from this pic (sorry about the quality of the pic) Have had a few changes to their outdoor area over the last weekend. I am experimenting with artificial turf in one corner to see if it is puppy proof enough to do the areas where grass wont grow...time will tell if this is a good idea. Have also put mesh across the front of the pen as several of the more agile pups had taken to letting themselves out into the back yard to visit the older dogs. Shame I prefer them to be where I can know they are safely contained !
24th Aug- Pups have not managed to destroy the new "turf" so all is looking promising for some of the area to be "turfed" over. The babes have grown again this week and enjoyed visits from their new owners. Only a week to go till they leave here for their new homes...some very excited families await them.
Meantime mum has decided to regurgitate her meals for them rather than stay for milk feeds ! The pen door is now closed for two hours after each meal to allow her to digest her meals before visiting. ...they really dont need her meals and their own. As you can see from the pic they have new "neighbours" and are very social.

25th Aug- Pups had a good nite and slept till 6.30am this morning :) Seen here this morning with mum watching Dad
27th Aug- A quieter day yesterday and today. Pups were wormed for the third time yesterday and took it in their stride. As you can see I am greeted each morning by a row of faces waiting for breakfast. I have one black girl left to find a good home for in this litter.
1st Sept - a very busy few days here. All bar one pup have left for their new homes with very happy and excited families. To those who have contacted me and given me updates many thanks. Our remaining black girl is spending some time alone and most of her time with our adult dogs exploring our yard and home. She has a sweet nature and is ready to follow us around and have cuddles all day.
2nd Sept - Last night she slept with our big dogs, did all her toileting outside and so all were happy.
3rd Sept - This little girl has a new home to go to in a day or two - no more enq's please.
